We know the school year looks a bit different this year, and we hope you are following the three Ws – wearing a face covering, waiting 6 feet apart, and washing your hands often – to protect yourselves, our campus, and our community. We are pleased to announce a new tool to help us slow the spread of COVID-19 – SlowCOVIDNC, the official Exposure Notification app of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service (NCDHHS)! SlowCOVIDNC works by proactively and anonymously notifying users of potential exposure to COVID-19. It provides a way for app users to protect their privacy and identity, while also slowing the spread of COVID-19, SlowCOVIDNC does not collect or share personally identifying or location information. The more people who participate, the more effective the app is slowing the spread of COVID-19.

What do you need to know about the app?

  • It’s free to download
  • It never collects or shares personally identifiable information
  • It uses Bluetooth technology to minimize battery use
  • It's 100% voluntary to download and use
  • It can help keep our campus safe and protect your friends and family

SlowCOVIDNC is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play store today.
