Jada Strickland lands internship with PwC

Jada Strickland ’21

Jada Strickland ’21 spent summer 2019 at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The business administration major learned of the internship through Dr. Maureen Leary, associate professor of economics, who took students to PwC’s Insight Day, a tour designed to give students a hands-on experience at what it’s like to work for the company.

“It’s always beneficial when you have the opportunity to see what the day-to-day is like for employees, as well as network with people you could be working with in the future,” Strickland emphasized.

During her internship, she learned how to use Alteryx and Tableau to create a delivery for Donorschoose.org and shadow the different lines of service (advisory, tax, and assurance).

Strickland, who has taken advantage of a number of opportunities provided on campus, encourages other Smithites to do the same.

“I can now take the tools and skills I learned during my internship and apply them within my courses at JCSU, network with lots of people, and be able to know what line of service I can see myself doing in the future,” Strickland said.
